Subject: Mother's Day Long Ride I'm planning a big ride for early Sunday morning if anyone is interested. Leaving the north entrance of Wash Park at 6:30 am, riding out to Golden, up Lookout, over to Bergen Park (including a short bit on I-70), over Squaw Pass to Echo Lake, back down Squaw to Kerr Gulch, down Bear Creek Canyon through Morrison, over the hogback and back through town to return to either REI, Wash Park, or wherever. No idea on distance/elevation, but I'll guess 90 miles and say 7000' of climbing. This is basically a prep ride for Triple Bypass for me. Moderate pace all the way, Z1/2, which should be in the neighborhood of 15-16 mph, for a total ride time of around 6 hours. I'm trying to be back as early as possible for afternoon Mother's Day activities, so I'd like to chat on the bike instead of standing around at refuel/bathroom stops. Meet up options: 6:30 am at north entrance to Wash Park 6:50 am at REI 8-ish am at the base of Lookout (maybe try to be there a little earlier just to be sure). Please, please, please, somebody come ride this with me. I'll be bored out of my skull doing this alone, but I need to get this ride in. Hope to see you out there. |
