Swim
What would you do differently?: Train more. My goodness. I am a really strong swimmer, but I had gals passing me doing the back stroke. Also, on the final leg, I got into a nice rythmn and zoned out. Ended up going off coarse a little. Transition 1
Comments: My first transition ever. What would you do differently?: Forgot my Powerbar. Get a roadbike. Bike
Comments: I killed the bike. That is a great time for me. I never averaged higher than 16mph on any of my training rides. Very pleased. What would you do differently?: Remember to bring something to nibble on. Get a roadbike. Transition 2
Comments: I don't have the whole jumping off a moving bike down. I didn't even try. My son was crying right over at the edge of the transition area which was close to where I was getting ready for the run. I ran over and gave him a hug and a kiss before heading out on the run. What would you do differently?: Train more. Run
Comments: I strained my achilles tendon and was instructed to not run. So, my run training was lame. I could tell my pace was slow. What would you do differently?: Train more. Not take a bite of Powerbar right before running out of the transition area. Spent the entire run trying to wash that nasty, pasty taste out of my mouth. Post race
Warm down: Hugging family. What limited your ability to perform faster: Injury and illness. Last updated: 2007-03-02 12:00 AM

Got up 2.5 hours prior to race (good advice from Tom) and had my normal breakfast of yogurt and granola and a cup of coffee. Head on down to the race alone, to set up my gear.
Walked around for a little bit, then jumped in and did a warm up swim. Swam around first buoy and back. Water temp was warmer than air so it felt really nice.
