Not too bad feeling very hopeful about putting in a decent show in May!! Do you do local events or all over the UK? Is there any you could suggest as good for beginners?

i do events in the south, the first race i ever did was last june and it was a novice event that goes b4 the main field and that was at ardinly in sussex arranged by www.urbanrace.co.uk, it was very good it is 250m swim/15mile bike (bike is the same as a standard sprint/1.5 mile run

its def. worth it i'd say, also the people who arrange iron bridge and south coast triathlon run a few novice tri's too that are supposed to be good, unless you are feeling confident in whoch case just do a sprint as most sprints in the UK are only 400m/15mile/5K

Me me me!!

I am in South London/Surrey. If you are looking for a tri/running club to train with check out SLH. I only started training in March this year and so far have done 3xsprint and 2xolympic distances. I was lucky to bump into another club member when i had only been trianing for a short time. As a result of joining SLH (and training a lot) I have knocked a load of time of all disciplines!!

Thanks for the input, just done a negative spilt to sevenoaks and back which is 30k on the dot.

Also includes a nice long hill up to pole hill so will work on that. Off to knole park for a run tom so i'll check out the hills and sort out some routes.
