Subject: Daughter's bike was stolen

Last night (10-7-07), my wife's car was broken into, the only thing stolen was my 9 year old daughter's Trek KDR 1000 road bike. She has a race in less than 2 weeks (Sugar Kids Triathlon on 10-20-07) and is in need of a bike now. If anyone has one she can borrow or buy for the race it would be appreciated!

Thanks Joe

 The bike is/was a 40cm Trek KDR 1000.

Here is a pic of it when it was my son's:

I don't live in TX but would be willing to kick in a few bucks towards a replacement bike.  I'm a sucker for heart breakers involving children.

Joe:

I hope I didn't get your hopes too high in thinking I'd replace the whole cost, I'm of modest means myself. However, I'd be willing to send a PayPal donation  towards the cost.  I didn't know if I could help, but those pictures pushed me over the edge!

PM me your PayPal ID and I'll send what I can.

Thank you is not enough to express my appreciation for all that you are doing to help me and my daughter. I am taken aback by the generosity.

I am short on words, which is rare.

Joe:

Have you thought about posting this on the Main Triathlon forum? Many people do not even come into the Classifieds forum.  Just a thought....

(Be sure to include the pics, they are so adorable and tug at the purse heart strings).

1st Timer in NY, thanks for starting this, I am in awe of your thoughtfulness and we are eternally grateful. WOW

Luv2flyjrn, your generosity took us by surprise, it is appreciated and will not be without merit.

For all of those who have donated and all that want to, THANK YOU!!!

Even for those who can't (We soooo understand), THANK YOU!!!

I can not say thank you enough. She just might be able to do the race on the 20th. I can not believe that there are so many good people left in the world, this morning I thought that people had run out of nice things to do, well the tri community, especially the BT world has restored my faith in people again.

If you are interested:

My paypal ID is PP333, the email for paypal is [email protected]
Thanks
Joe

Sent you a small amount via paypal. Hope it helps.

On a side note, do you work for or consult for Continental Airlines?

pp333 is a test ID we use for a test pilot. And then you are near Houston which is where they are headquartered. Oh well, was just curious...don't want to distract from the thread. sorry.

OMG, that's wonderful news!! I was coming to get your email address to send a small contribution, but this is even better news! Hopefully the bike will still be in good shape and won't need a lot of extra attention/repairs before her race.

That is great news. If the bike is in working order, please donate my donation to the charity. If the bike needs repair, please use my money to repair the bike.

All I ask for in return is pictures of your daughter finishing the race!
