Subject: Irish Car Bomb challenge

triOK has put the challenge out for anyone who wishes to beat her at downing an Irish Car Bomb the fastest and I thought that I would get the (fire)ball rolling.

It appeared that mr2tony was a taker.

I believe this will need to be documented with a YouTube video, with at least 2 trustworthy and honest witnesses to said event.

Okay, going a little over-the-top here, folks.

Do what you wish with this thread!

For those of us not so enlightened could you provide the details?  What, exactly, is this that we're supposed to be downing?

Quote from a bar site:

An Irish Car Bomb is one of the most popular drinks worldwide. The ingredients are simple and widely available, and beer lovers will almost certainly enjoy it. If you ask for one of these in an Irish pub you'll be greeted with either a smile, or a black eye. Enjoy!

3/4 pint Guinness® stout
1/2 shot Bailey's® Irish cream
1/2 shot Jameson® Irish whiskey

Add the Bailey's and Jameson to a shot glass, layering the Bailey's on the bottom. Pour the Guinness into a pint glass or beer mug 3/4 of the way full and let settle. Drop the shot glass into the Guinness and chug. If you don't drink it fast enough it will curdle and increasingly taste worse.

I have an Irish acquaintance that has a "questionable" past. Let's just say that the British government may have granted him amnesty along with some of his "club members".    I can attest to the "black eye" part of the quote, I saw it happen first hand.

Truth be told, you'd have to be either a)really cheeky, or b) really well known to ask for a car bomb in a pub in N. Ireland or London. Some places in Glasgow its cool, like the student unions. But yeah, gotta watch where you ask for it. But its foul as well b/c the bailiey's curdles really easily...gotta drink it fast!

glad you like the site Jess, but there are no longhorn fans aloud, particularly with such an offensive avatar.

Only 3/4 of a pint of Guinness? And I guess the Bailey's is to gross people out, because I don't consider Bailey's alcohol. I would participate, but I'm not going to buy Bailey's just for this challenge. Hmmm, but I could buy the mini bottle...

How about this: A full pint of Guinness, cut out the Bailey's and add 2 shots of Jameson? Time to separate the adults from the children here....

The point is to fit it all in a pint glass.

Hoaw about this:

Chupacabra Challenge:

In a pint glass: Half can of Red Bull plus Bloody Mary mix to half pint.

In a shot glass: shot of tequilla with several good dashes of Tobasco (the more the merrier)

Drop the shot in the pint glass and drink it down

(it's much better than it sounds)

I would imagine that most places in the UK would view you questionably should you ask for this... I'm up for a drink as much as you guys but who on earth named this??? Would you order a 911 special in NY???

Ehhh...there's a cocktail name to offend probably everyone.

So when's this thing going to happen.

I'm ready to put you all to shame soon and claim my rightful spot on the throne (or in front of it, holding it like I'm driving the big porcelain bus) as KING OF THE IRISH CAR BOMB!

Oh and the first time I ordered that drink here my FOB Irish friend Paul, aka Irish Paul, gave me quite a strange look.
