  • Comments: This is an excellent race for beginners- it's small and both the bike/run course is flat. I didn't care for the pool swim- the lanes were crowded and it was hard to pass people. Also, the pool was very murky and it was hard to see.

  • Comments: This race rocks! The location, on Parris Island, is awesome. Very senic and racing by the recruits in basic is awesome. Plus, factor in hanging out with a bunch of BT and TNT friends in a nice, laid-back atmosphere and you've got a winner. Shoutouts: Russ is the man. Shannon is a true sweetheart (thanks (I think) for the Barry). And to my TNT athletes: you guys rocked! Marti (smarti) improved 10 minutes over a similar race last year and had a blast. She's still my hero. Janelle overcame a potentially disastrous lack of a bike shoe to not only finish the race but also to improve on last year by 2 minutes. Sandee and Lynn were 2nd and 3rd in their age group. And Jason was third in his, in his very first tri!

  • Comments: I can't emphasize enough how nice it was to meet everyone and to race with members of the BT family. I am very much looking forward to St.A's as much for the race as for the experience. Thanks to Jim, Mike, Shannon, and Janelle, and to the friends and team members with them for making this a memorable event. I didn't do this race last year due to surgery so the closest race I've done for comparasion would be last years Greenville Sprint. Allowing for a 2 mile bike difference I had about a 9 minute improvement in total time.

  • Comments: I got hardware. Third Athena out of four. I wanted second, but she beat me by eight minutes. The first place girl is a tall, lanky thing and won it in 1:18. I was happy, in the end, to get an award. I felt a bit chagrined to go up there and get an award when there had only been four of us competing against each other. I was proud that I improved my time over my first tri by 7:55 and very proud of my run. I had such a heartwarming time meeting other people (bt'ers, the tnt folks, etc) that enjoy doing the same things I enjoy doing. It's nice to feel like you belong and are a part of something. Everyone was so very genuine and nice, can't wait for the next one. Thanks guys.
