  • Comments: Paris Island is a beautiful place to race. It's pretty wild seeing all of the recruits out the whole time you're racing. The only negative this race was the bugs. Once the wind started blowing thogh they weren't too bad.

  • Comments: I really loved this course. I just love the water and the ocean smells and all the marines training and chanting in the background were pretty cool to. I definitely plan on doing this race again. It was fun hanging out with all the Augusta BTers. Also, this was my my hubby's first tri ever (flyingtiger) and I'm so proud of him. He did awesome and so did his training partner, Steve(BlueJack). You guys are going to rock at IMFL!

  • Comments: I improved from last year, won my age group and beat my arch rival. I also had a great time meeting up with folks I hadn't seen since October. Had a fun time traveling with SuzanneS who also had a great race. It is so much fun to race then socialize and see that you are continuing to get faster. A great day. I give this one two thumbs up!!!

  • Comments: I like this race as the first event of the year. It was great seeing Mandy and Flying Tiger get their first race under their belt. I'll be back next year and hope to break 1:10.

  • Comments: OK...like I said before, I've only been training a bit for this race. When I signed up 6 weeks ago and got my @ss off the couch, I made a deal with myself that I'd swim, bike and run 2x a week. And I did it. It's crazy to say, esp. after a season of IM training, but this is probably the most consistent I've ever been in my tri training. The result? A PR over this course by 2.5 minutes, and a 6 minute improvement over last year.

  • Comments: Again, in retrospect I shouldn't have raced. I'm dissappointed because if I had a good day ( a couple minutes faster than last year) I would have been on the podium. I ended up having good legs, but just couldn't use them because of all of the damn coughing. Oh well. Time to train. Epilogue: this was Amy's first triathlon, and she was awesome. ^th of 16 in Novice female, and ran her fastest-ever 5K. I'm really proud of her.

  • Comments: Very fun race. My friend Justine placed second in our age group. We go to the same tri clinic. Greg (our clinic coach) will be so proud!! I had a blast with my friends and met Rus (De Cracker) for lunch afterwards. It was a great way to unwind after the race. Scott, Reuben and I really enjoyed talking with Rus and look forward to doing more events in the Beaufort area.

  • Comments: This is an excellent race for beginners- it's small and both the bike/run course is flat. I didn't care for the pool swim- the lanes were crowded and it was hard to pass people. Also, the pool was very murky and it was hard to see.

  • Comments: This race rocks! The location, on Parris Island, is awesome. Very senic and racing by the recruits in basic is awesome. Plus, factor in hanging out with a bunch of BT and TNT friends in a nice, laid-back atmosphere and you've got a winner. Shoutouts: Russ is the man. Shannon is a true sweetheart (thanks (I think) for the Barry). And to my TNT athletes: you guys rocked! Marti (smarti) improved 10 minutes over a similar race last year and had a blast. She's still my hero. Janelle overcame a potentially disastrous lack of a bike shoe to not only finish the race but also to improve on last year by 2 minutes. Sandee and Lynn were 2nd and 3rd in their age group. And Jason was third in his, in his very first tri!

  • Comments: I can't emphasize enough how nice it was to meet everyone and to race with members of the BT family. I am very much looking forward to St.A's as much for the race as for the experience. Thanks to Jim, Mike, Shannon, and Janelle, and to the friends and team members with them for making this a memorable event. I didn't do this race last year due to surgery so the closest race I've done for comparasion would be last years Greenville Sprint. Allowing for a 2 mile bike difference I had about a 9 minute improvement in total time.

  • Comments: I got hardware. Third Athena out of four. I wanted second, but she beat me by eight minutes. The first place girl is a tall, lanky thing and won it in 1:18. I was happy, in the end, to get an award. I felt a bit chagrined to go up there and get an award when there had only been four of us competing against each other. I was proud that I improved my time over my first tri by 7:55 and very proud of my run. I had such a heartwarming time meeting other people (bt'ers, the tnt folks, etc) that enjoy doing the same things I enjoy doing. It's nice to feel like you belong and are a part of something. Everyone was so very genuine and nice, can't wait for the next one. Thanks guys.
