"I would purchase this short over and over again simply b/c I LOVE the wide, elastic-free waistband SO much. I'm a thin girl, but darn... most bike and tri shorts (with their gathered elastic waistbands) give me muffin top. I can't stand that and nobody wants to see that. LOL! More companies should follow Descente's guide and create elastic free waistbands. Would LOVE to see something like this in a triathlon short."shellabree

Material isn't as nice as some other brands (like DeSoto)

True to size.

This short wins my heart in the comfort dept.

Many shorts offer an adjustable waistband with drastring. This short doesn't have one, but the self-fabric, elastic free band expands and conforms... so you don't really need one.

I'm a bit concerned about how the chamois will hold up over time. It seems a bit too 'basic' of a foam design.

Excellent value for comfort factor alone.

I purchased in basic black. Descente's logo in unobtrusive and I actually kinda like the looks of it. One of the better logos out there.

So far, so good.

Wide, elastic free waistband = no pinching and not an ounce of muffin top. Silicone free leg grippers for zero irritation. Excellent fit- right on with Descente's size chart. I love these shorts so much (especially the waistband). I WISH they made this same style in a triathlon short.

The chamois. I have the 2007 model (purple chamois), but I've also tried the '08 model (blue chamois). The '07 model is basically just foam with a breathable cover (looks like nylon or something). It's extremely basic. I can imagine that with more use the foam 'may' start to clump or break down. The good thing about the '07 model is the fleece protection that runs along the crease of where your body meets your legs. The '08 model has a more 'technical' chamois that looks 'high end' with all of the perforations, but I also found it to be quite stiff and uncomfy compared to the '08 model. It also doesn't have the soft fleece where your legs meet the body. The material that the short is made out of it nice enough, but it's nowhere near as nice as my shorts made my DeSoto.
