"The PaceWheel is a circular calculator that figures training paces for Aerobic Base Runs, Marathon-Pace Runs, Lactate Threshold/Tempo Training, VO2 Max Intervals, and Running Economy Reps. For less than $20 bucks, it's an awesome tool."5kcoach
Quality of Construction
Might be susceptible to water because it's not made of plastic, but the "whiz-wheel" design and color-coding make it much easier to use than spreadsheets. Great for sharing with a training group or team.
Durability
Wish it were made of plastic, but it'll hold up for the long term if you're careful with it. The dings it's gotten in my clipboard don't affect its performance.
Value
Best tool I've got for my teams' running workouts. We use it every week at practice to make sure we are hitting the right times for each of us. Coaches will especially find it useful.
Appearance
Color-coding makes it so easy my freshmen can understand that LT runs are supposed to be different from VO2 Max runs.
Customer Service
A+. Also offers color-coded free training calendars downloads for 5k, 10k, half-marathon, and marathon at the website.
Performance
Sooo easy to use. Can't believe I hadn't heard about it before.
Strengths
Ease of use. Color-coding. Quick, accurate training times for broad range of runners. Endorsements from USATF Coaching chairman.
Weakness
Printed on Cardboard rather than plastic. Small print.
Ease of use
Color-coded training training zones for Aerobic Base Runs, Marathon Goal Pace, Lactate Threshold/Tempo Training, VO2 Max Intervals, and Running Economy Reps. Just line up my most recent race time, and it calculates my training paces for me.
