"I made the right decision buying this bike. I can honestly say that the 2.1 makes it fun to ride bikes again - haven't had this much fun since I was a kid riding my BMX. In my (newbie) opinion, this is a great bike. "gwmeader

Bike came fully assembled.

Shimano 105's are VERY smooth. I was riding a loaner Fuji before this and it is like going from a manual transmission with a bad clutch to an automatic.

Very happy with the components. Frame welds appear to be of high quality. Very durable thus far.

Fit is great. I also tried Fuji and Giant road bikes but the Trek frame was just the most comfortable. I feel great riding both upright and in the drops.

The most comfortable of all the bikes I tested. For whatever reason, I had some back and neck discomfort with the Fuji and Giant. I have 25-30 miles on the 2.1 and it still feels great.

No problems here.

Haven't run over any large potholes or crashed yet, but it seems pretty durable so far. The bike just looks and feels well made, which is hard to find today (I sound like my grandfather).

It was pretty expensive, but I feel like I got what I paid for. I hear some folks say that you pay for the name when you buy a Trek. Maybe there is a reason for that... Also, I did a lot of research beforehand and it seems like the Treks really hold their resale value.

I am more about function than form, but the bike looks good to me. However, if I ever need to replace the grips, I will change them from white to black. The white is already showing the dirt.

The bike is super responsive to acceleration. You can really feel the fruits of your labor when you add gear and put forth some effort. The bike just surges.

Fit and finish are excellent. The 105 components really make shifting a breeze. Unlike the 1.2, the 2.1 does not require you to come out of the drops to change gears. This was one of the reasons I chose this model. As noted above, I feel like it is pretty responsive.

The seat is a little uncomfortable. However, it could be that I am just not used to road bike seats yet.
