Ease of installation

This thing pretty much come preprogrammed and it runs well right from the box. As with any HR monitor you have to change the Target zones.

For the most basic functions like HR it it is pretty easy to use. However, there are soo many features that for certain things you do have to reference the manual.

Polar makes great products and the quality is unquestionable.

The wrist band and HR chest strap are adequate for my size. although I could see for a larger person the wrist band might be a little tight

Durability

Excellent. I have worn this through a few triathlons and much training over the last year and its put up with some beatings to no negative effect.

Value

Value is a tough call only because its really what you are looking for. This is a quality HR monitor, that if used with a Foot pod can give you also distance/pace/speed figures with a fair amount of accuracy. I think thats worth it

Performance

I am very happy with the RS400 running computer. So far its been fairly accurate and reliable. In the distance and pace calculations its been as accurate as any GPS unit. I often run with friends who have Garmin GPS watches and the funny thing is they never have an exact reading, even when we run together and ran the same exact course. They are standing next to each other and their distances have varied greatly at times. My RS400 has been fairly consistent.
