"This was a great shoe for me starting out. I didn't want to invest too much money in case I didn't like riding clipless. Even after I found out how much I love riding clipless, I haven't upgraded the shoes (and subsequently my pedals) because I'm comfortable with the BG Sonoma model. One day I'll invest, but for now these are perfect. "RunningJayhawk
Quality of Construction
Solid shoe, but could use additional ventilation throughout the toe area.
Fit
Overall it fits me well...although I find that I have to give some slack on the velco straps to avoid having it be too tight. Could be a sign that they didn't design the shoe with enough room throughout the arch area.
Comfort
I'd like to see a little more cushion on the inside, but overall...it's average on the comfort level. Not terrible, but not amazing either.
Durability
After 15 months of cycling, they still look new (with the exception of a few scuffs). It's held together nicely.
Value
Good price for an inexpensive cycling shoe. Great investment for those just starting out and getting used to going clipless.
Appearance
Clearly a shoe designed for women. Comes in two colors. The overall design is stylish, too. At first glance, I didn't realize it was for cycling.
Performance
I haven't had any problems so far with the BG Sonoma shoe. They're comfortable to run in during transition, although they could use a little more cushioning. But for basic, minimal comfort, it's great.
Strengths
- Strong, durable shoe.
- Great price.
- Designed with women in mind.
Weakness
- Could use additional ventilation.
- Velcro straps usually need to be a little looser.

Ease of use
Easy to slip on and go during transition with 2 velco straps.
