"All in all, I'm pleased with this Amphipod product during my longer training runs (12 miles or more). "RunningJayhawk
Quality of Construction
The fuel belt itself is study and seemingly indestructible.
The bottles themselves show their ware easily. Additionally, some of the bottles clip in and out easily, while others are difficult to clip out or slip out when running. I've picked up additional bottles, so I'm able to use the ones I know are secure, but easy to grab when needed.
Fit
The belts run in various sizes and have a velcro strap for adjusting...
Comfort
There's a little bit of extra cushioning to help avoid chaffing of the skin. Depending how much fluid you're running with, it can get heavy.
Adjustability
It's very easy to adjust to different waist sizes due to the velcro strap. You can also remove the accessory pockets and change the belt so you have 1-4 bottles rather than running with 4 bottle clips all the time.
Durability
I'm still able to use the same belt from a year and a half ago...so I'd say it's pretty durable.
Value
I think the unit itself is a bit pricey (as are the replacement bottles), but the product is worth it to me for training during the hot summer months.
Appearance
I'm not a fan of the lime green/neon yellow accent coloring, but it's part of the corporate branding colors so there's not much I can do about that.
Customer Service
I've had to reach out to Amphipod's customer service in the past and they have been nothing less than fantastic and responsive.
Performance
I've only dropped bottles a few times from this belt, but overall it has been good to me.
Strengths
- Comfortable with good adjustability.
- Can hold a lot with accessory pockets.
Weakness
- When using all 4 bottles it can feel heavy to run with initially.
- Bottles can sometimes have some fitting issues.
- 3 people use
- 34 workouts logged
- 391.18 miles / 68.65 hours logged
Ease of use
Just strap around your waist and go.
