Swim
Comments: This was a pretty good swim for me considering my time was better than I anticipated. I did not get into a food freestyle rhythm until the second lap. This is still my weakness. I need to be more on the race line at the start of the race. What would you do differently?: Navigate the race line for the first 300 meters. Transition 1
Comments: Transition went as planned with the exception that I was already hungry so I took an extra second to open a powerbar and take it with me on the bike. What would you do differently?: Pack a powerbar on my bike. Bike
Comments: After about 5 miles on the bike I caught this woman in the 30-34 age group and she just seemed to stick to me. I could not drop her. I did have a nice break away when I was finally sick of these 2 guys that were passing me and then I would pass them, repeat, repeat!!! I put down about a mile at 26mph and left them. It was fun. What would you do differently?: Nothing. I pushed pretty hard and started to get pretty tired at the end. Transition 2
Comments: Transition went as planned. Run
Comments: I ran really well. I pushed the whole run. I have to give a little thanks to the woman that stuck to me on the bike. She came out of transition right behind me and passed me. I passed her back and pushed each other the entire run. I don't know if I would have run so hard if someone would not have been challenging me. What would you do differently?: Nothing. This was my best race run to date. Post race
Warm down: Walked around for a minute. Got some heed and food. What limited your ability to perform faster: Strength. I am going to try to lift weights 3X per week up to Timberman 70.3. Event comments: I still wish HFP would provide some type of activities for the spectators. Last updated: 2009-05-27 12:00 AM

Dressed overly warm to keep muscles warm. Ate Kashi go lean cereal at the hotel and snacked on a powerbar up until race time. Took my time setting up transition until I realized it was almost start time.
Quick swim to get the muscles going.
