Pre-race routine:

Was up at 4:45, got ready, drank some fluids and ate a banana and bagel. Arrived at Alum Creek just after 5:30am. Had my body marked and set up my transition area. Got my time chip and then nervously paced around for a while. I had quite a nervous bladder which kept me running to the restrooms...3 times in the 30min before the start.
Event warmup:

Stretched a bit before the swim
Swim
  • 11m 16s
  • 440 yards
  • 02m 34s / 100 yards
Comments:

Swimming is definitely my strongest area. I didn't feel like I got a good start...a combination of nerves and inexperience. It took me a little while to get out of the pack and get into my groove. I felt like a lot of energy was wasted on a little bit of stop and go in the first part of the swim.
What would you do differently?:

Be confident and stay focused on breathing more
Transition 1
  • 03m
Comments:

I'm kind of guessing on the exact time here. It's not posted on the event website results page now, but I think it was there before and was right around 3 min if I remember correctly. I felt a lot faster than this.
What would you do differently?:

Wear a tri suit
Bike
  • 48m 36s
  • 12 miles
  • 14.81 mile/hr
Comments:

I don't know my exact time here either. It seems my timing chip didn't catch my bike or T2 times. This is guesstimate, but I felt good on the bike and only got passed by one other person on a mountain bike.
What would you do differently?:

Get a lighter bike
Transition 2
  • 01m
Comments:

Once again this is a guesstimate on time, but I know it couldn't have been any longer. I didn't change shoes or anything...only had to rack my bike and remove my helmet.
Run
  • 21m 18s
  • 2 miles
  • 10m 39s  min/mile
Comments:

My legs were super heavy for the fist 3/4 mile, but I finally got into a good groove after that. I felt a side stitch coming on around the 1 mile mark, but lucky it didn't get too bad and I was able to finish well.
What would you do differently?:

Train more
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around a bit and grabbed some water. Went to the finish to root on my friend then grabbed a banana, bagel and more water.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nerves and inexperience. I could also use a lighter bike and a tri suit would be nice

Event comments:

Overall, I had an amazing experience for my first tri. I had set a goal to finish in 1:30. I really thought I would have a difficult time meeting this, but to my surprise it happened and I even surpassed it finishing in 1:25:10! Thank you adrenaline!

The event seemed very well organized and all the volunteers and other racers were extremely kind and helpful. I'm happy to have done this race as my first and had a great time. I think I'm ready to tackle another one :)
