Swim
Comments: The first 3/4th of the swim was like bumper cars. I need to figure out how to keep away from every one. Had to stop several times to get my bearing and move away from other swimmers. No ones fault, that just how it is. What would you do differently?: Start wide and swim an ark toward the first turn point. Site more often. While I swam 3 full minutes faster than my goal, I am listing this as poor due to my poor collision management and absence of siting. If I had sited more, I could have avoided other swimmers. Transition 1
Comments: I felt good in T1, as my goals was 4 full minutes. I did not time T1 but is was probably about a minute bot including the run from the water to T1 which was 120 yards or so. What would you do differently?: run to T1 faster Bike
What would you do differently?: Push harder on the way back. Transition 2
Comments: Rack was only twenty feet from bike entrance so I was pretty fast in T1 What would you do differently?: I sat down to put my running socks and shoes on. I also stood still while clipping my number belt on. I should have been running while doing that. Run
Comments: I tried to drink from the water areas but I kept aspirating the water into my lungs. So I just poured that water onto my head and upper body. What would you do differently?: Run harder for sure. Post race
Warm down: Walked around and jogged a little bit. Drank lots of fluids and ate fruit and pasta. What limited your ability to perform faster: My mental state during the swim. I need to get over the fact that swimming open water triathlons means contact with other swimmers. Last updated: 2009-06-18 12:00 AM

Got up at 4:00 am racked bike. First one to rack so i locked the bike to the rack so no one would take it.
Did not warm up at all, I was pretty nervous.
