Comments:

Swim went well and much better than it did during training. I stayed focused and over all it felt okay.
What would you do differently?:

nothing really but over all work on becoming a stronger swimmer

Comments:

need to practice this transition!!!

Comments:

Bike is my strongest leg and I felt really good!!! My body was relaxed and I let my legs set the pace for me. I did throw up three times unfortunately but I didn't let it stop me lol!!!
Transition 2

Comments:

went well and was faster than what it felt like!!!
What would you do differently?:

practice takin my shoes off and being able to jump off the bike and go . . .
Run
  • 3h 01m 42s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 13m 52s  min/mile
Comments:

Haha - never in my running career have I ran 13 min miles but considering all that I had going on and the fact that I was dehydrated I am very pleased with how I did. The run was the worst leg for me and where I struggled the most. Had it not been for the conversations I struck up with other runner and my coach running with my I don't think I would have finished the race.

I though ran a majority of the course - if you want to call it running lol . . . it hurt more to walk so I jogged at a steady pace with my coach to make it across the finish line and sure enough I did :)

Even though it was my worst run ever - it was the best part of the race. I really enjoyed talking to different people to stay motivated and to help motivate others who were not feeling so hot on the run either!!! You got to have fun with it or it's not worth doing!!! :) I kept a smile on the whole time even though I was completly miserable haha :)
What would you do differently?:

not be sick prior to the race lol ;)
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

Being sick and coming off treatments the day before the race!!!

Event comments:

It was my first Ironman 70.3 and I will say it was a blast regardless of how I felt!!! The spectators were great and the course itself was good. Enough people to where you were never alone which in my opinion helps on a mental level especially with long distances!!!
