Comments: Weakest link. BUT much better than I expected in terms of time to finish. Mixed freestyle and backstroke. Backstroke is very difficult to navigate. What would you do differently?: Learn to swim! Prepare for 2x the distance. More OWS practice. Transition 1
Comments: Legs wobbly coming into T1. ok with timing but can see opportunity for much faster. Put shoes on bike - not in T1, etc. What would you do differently?: Shoes on bike. Bike
Comments: Endurance. Energy. Fuel. What would you do differently?: Water. Fuel. Bike and shoes?? Transition 2
Comments: Racking bike - other bike in way - my spot! Shoes transition. no issue - could be an issue if go to biking shoes. Run
Comments: Run - surprisingly strong. Kept running except for about 5 paces at about 2.5 miles. Passed alot of people!! Good for attitude and final push. What would you do differently?: More running on similar terrain. only walked/jogged this course 1 time. Post race
Warm down: stretching. walking. sitting. bagel, banana, gatorade & water. What limited your ability to perform faster: Swim technique and time in water. transitions. bike training and equipment could have impacted 5-8 minutes? Event comments: First triathlon. Awake 5am. Cereal w banana breakfast. Water. Arrived site by 6:00 am - many people already in transition. Set. Stretch.
Simple stretching. No swim, jog or bike warm-up.
