Swim
Comments: Intitally much banging around, large clydesdale group. Made it to the first bouy "quickly" (one of those "O-sh$T" I need to turn"). Once I got pass the turn tension, I settled into a rythm and over all finished strong. Had to micx in some recovery strokes, but overall it went real well. What would you do differently?: Not sure if much other than just need to contiue to work on stroke and breathing, got some good advice from some more expierenced guys at the start, which was helpful. Transition 1
Comments: I had to sit to get shoes/socks on, but I didnt practice this at all before the race so overall I think it went well. T-area was well organized so everything came off and went on well. What would you do differently?: Not sit, and practice ahead of time. Bike
Comments: Blew a tire 3/4 way through the bike during high speed turn. Very disappointing - making real good time and was setting up for a sub 45 16-mile pace. Really working well and passing some folks. Probably going too fast because by the time I got to the run I was done. Anyway blew a tire, waited 30 minutes for the SAG wagon (no spare) lost my time because of this. Thought I rolled the tire but turned out to be a fluke puncture. What would you do differently?: Check air psi at site before start. I want to buy a road bike. Transition 2
Run
Comments: Was working preety hard and running a little quicker than I probably should have. Died preety bad at the end and struggled at end, but still trotted across the line. Ran the first mile real quick and spent the next two paying for it. What would you do differently?: Work more on the street running and focus on running distance. Post race
Warm down: Some walking around the finish area - eventually ended up at the beer/sandwhich tent. What limited your ability to perform faster: My weight - but that will improve Event comments: I had a great time, minus the discouragement of the bike ride. I met some great people at the race and look forward to seeing them again at other tri's in the area. I will do this tri again next year. Last updated: 2009-09-15 12:00 AM

First triathlon so I will need to adjust next time. Arrived early, really took my time getting things organized. Took a spot at the edge of a stand, that worked out real well. Walked and got my feet wet in the water, chilly, gonna be a cold one for sure. Walked the grounds and became familiar with the entry and exit of each segment.
Strecthed extensively, could have used a better warm-up for sure.
