Pre-race routine:

Up at 5am, out the door at 5:20, at the ATT by 5:35 and on the mountain bike. Nice easy 4.8 mile bike ride over to Brooks Park up the ATT to Green Level, then rode part of the race finish route in to the park. Very low-key morning, as I had been feeling pretty bad Saturday, and was just taking it easy to see how the morning would go. Woke up with a pep in my step, so figured it'd be a good day. No aches or pains, and everything seemed like it was plugged in and ready to rock.
Event warmup:

1 mile total, easy pace with a few pickups at the tail end.

Comments:

I had many goals here. 1st and foremost not get injured. 2nd, run off the course (first race over 5k that I've run without handbottle or fuel belt. 3rd, see if I could come close to my 1:30 goal.

All three were accomplished. I felt great on the run, could've pushed more, but it wasn't worth any extra push today. Just a beautiful race, a great course (love to race where I train!), and my nutrition plan was spot on today.

Clif Bar on the way to park the car at 5:30. Sippin' on some GU Brew. Gu 15 minutes prior to start (after warmup mile). Gu at 6 miles. Gu at 10 miles. Took water at every station except 2, where I took GU Brew there.

Very very pleased with this run.

Splits:
6:32
6:15 (fastest mile, on a downhill)
6:36 first hills, leading up to ATT
6:45 on the ATT, from Green Level West north
6:43 fell in a good groove here
6:44
6:44 yes, that's 4 miles all clicking around 6:45
6:52
13:36 for 2 (missed the mile marker after the turnaround)
7:06 a little off pace here, but no trouble. Just put it on cruise control
6:57
6:46 fending off a little challenge with a push up a slight hill
:34 for the last 0.1...was in a footrace to catch Amie K...tied her at the line!
What would you do differently?:

Be well the day before, and be fully rested. Otherwise, this was a good measure of where my running is right now.
Post race
Warm down:

Hopped on the mtn. bike and reverse rode the marathon course, saying hi to everyone I saw! Annoying yes, but a nice day for a ride.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Good performance, happy with it right now. Four weeks to Boston, one more long week, then it's taper and be ready.

Event comments:

Aid stations were every 2 miles. That's a bit of a stretch for me, but it did not pose any problems. I've been stretching out my need for aid lately to be ready for the intervals, and it worked okay today.
