Run
Comments: This portion felt fine. Didn't go too quickly so as to burn myself out for the rest of the race. was fine being passed! What would you do differently?: perhaps do more speed training as I would LOVE to be much faster. Transition 1
Comments: I have NO idea what my t1 time is because they didn't tell us. Instead they added the T1 and T2 times to our bike time since they didn't take down our numbers on the way out or into the bike segment...only in and back out on the runs... I think I took too long on this one.. not that I had shoes to change or anything, but I attempted to take the wrong bike at first, then I had to find my helmet and sunglasses which had fallen off my bike (later found out that G had knocked them off!) then I stopped to get a swig of cytomax...then I started walking out, then started jogging. What would you do differently?: make my bike more noticeable and maybe not put my helmet on the seat.. Bike
Comments: Like mentioned above, the time/pace is off since my transition times were added - I think by my watch i was closer to 44-45 minutes. I had a lot of fun on this portion even though I rode my brake pretty hard down the big hill. I felt like I was flying and I passed a ton of people (okay so some of them were on mtn bikes but still!) I passed way more people than passed me. It definitely made me want to invest in a road bike as soon as I move somewhere where I can ride one a lot. One woman w/ aerobars and a tri suit passed me at the end (but I hung w/ her till the transition) and said, "you're hard to pass!" which felt good..even if we were BOP'rs. What would you do differently?: I would DEFINITELY train on a road bike and ride a bike outside in the months leading up to the race! haha.. Transition 2
Comments: same as above. Run
Comments: It felt awful at first!! I could barely get my legs moving.. but I saw a couple people I wanted to pass and I did!! (I won't tell you what condition they were in!) A couple times stopping crossed my mind, but I was determined to run the entire course.. and I did!! I did it faster than I thought I did. What would you do differently?: I would do more bricks and definitely do them outside the gym... stationary bike to treadmill is much easier! Post race
Warm down: got a massage at the race finish! that felt awesome, ate some bread and fruit and had a jamba juice! What limited your ability to perform faster: lack of training and genetic make-up. Event comments: Well organized race. Volunteers were numerous and helpful. Participants were very nice and supportive! Many were disappointed that there was no swim, but it turned out nicely anyway and it was still a lot of fun! Last updated: 2005-11-01 12:00 AM

Night before we put our numbers on our bikes, got our clothes out in one place. We packed our transition bags and got our water bottles ready to make cytomax in the morning. Woke up at 5am, drank some coffee and had half a banana and half a piece of toast w/ pb&j. Walked across the street to the transition area (best rental house ever!).
