Pre-race routine:

Ate the morning breakfast of 3/4 cup cereal, and a dry muffin. Drank 1/2 a Cranberry green tea concuction at home, and finished it at the event. Wow, what a difference 83mg of green team caffeine makes.
Event warmup:

Stretched, and swam 200 yeard in the warm-up pool.
Swim
  • 10m
  • 654 yards
  • 01m 32s / 100 yards
Comments:

Started pretty strong, felt good. Did not hear the whistle or siren to stop. 10 feet short of 24.5 laps.
What would you do differently?:

Pretty happy with this portion of the race.
Transition 1
  • 10m
Comments:

Quick shower, and a jog to the spin cycles
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Bike
  • 30m
  • 16.4 miles
  • 32.80 mile/hr
Comments:

I wish we had a better way to work the ride portion of this race. By letting the tension all the way out, you could really fly with minimal effort. Had to keep some resistance to stay on the bike.
What would you do differently?:

Start out with less resistance. the first five minutes I was riding at a higher resistance, at 28mph before I started playing with the resistance, and got up to 34 and change.
Transition 2
  • 05m
Comments:

Nice walk up the stairs with the wife. Drank a little water, and spend three minutes stretching.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. Pretty happy
Run
  • 20m
  • 2.46 miles
  • 08m 08s  min/mile
Comments:

Started at 7.2 mph, and felt real strong. moved to 7.3 at 5 minute mark, 7.4 at the 10 minute mark, 7.5 at the 15 minute mark, 7.6 at the 17 minute mark, 7.7 at the 18 minute mark, and 8.0 at the 19 minute mark. Finished strong. Checked heart rate for less than 90 seconds. High BPM of 172 at the end.
What would you do differently?:

My target was 2.4 miles, so I am pleased.
Post race
Warm down:

Sat for 5 minutes to cool down, and walked around with wife to visit the facility.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Wow was I really breathing hard. No pain at all in hip or right ankle. The only thing that stopped me was the lack of air in the lungs.

Event comments:

As always LTF does an awesome job. One complaint, no water bottles or bananas available. Good thing my wife was there to buy me a water when I got to the bike. I would like to see what intervals the 90 minute race do.
