Run
Comments: lost my girls right at the beginning..such a mass of green runners-very crowded...hard to keep a decent pace, but for the most part ran a nice race...not too exhuberant..could have gone faster but it was a good feeling run-heart rate in check and all well except for a bit of a stomach ache the whole way...(thanks margarita and burrito dinner!) finished feeling strong..not out of breath or exhausted. What would you do differently?: not eat mexican the night before. sleep more than 5 hours. Post race
Warm down: got t shirt (another long line) and found my niece and her friend Penny...took pictures..danced and drank a beer. then went to brunch at Rialto Cafe-delicious! Started snowing as we were celebrating after the race..snowed a bunch at my house all afternoon and night-so crazy because it had been 60 degrees and sunny the day before! so much for luck of the irish!!! What limited your ability to perform faster: so many people-bad nite before preparation. Who cares?? so much fun at this event!! Last updated: 2010-01-11 12:00 AM

had a big mexican dinner the night before with margarita. drank wine and had chocolate pie and stayed up til 1 am playing cards with friends at the house...probably not the best "night before routine"..
just coffee, water and a banana about an hour before the race
got there and it was massively crowded...long line to get race number...stood in long line...then another long line to pee. kind of missed the actual start due to this..so ran back to start line and crowded into the runners.
