Pre-race routine:

Had a bagel and a hard boiled egg for breakfast. Got to the race site an hour early, so just sat in the car where it was nice and warm. In the goodie bag I got for the race there was a pack of GU which I have never tried, so I did. The consistancy almost made me gag, but the taste was pretty good.
Event warmup:

The race started at 10am so I stayed in the car until about 9:30, then got out and did some stretching.

Overall it was a great race for me. This was my second 10K ever. The first 10K I did in 49:49, and this one I did in 48:08, so I got a new PR for myself. I'm in the middle, bib number 1818 in the photo below.

Course: The course was flat as could be. The only thing that was tough was the wind and the cold. The race was at the Seaport district in Boston, so it was wicked windy.
