Run
Comments: Was a great run, considering I was on the operating table in June to have my hamstring tendons reattached and I wasn't expected to run until December. Ha! I ran 17 km and then my right knee - not my hamstrings - decided it had had enough. Probably a result of not enough time to train. (I only started walking in August.) But it was great fun. Many comments on my outfit and tiara. What would you do differently?: Not fall down in June, have surgery, and not get up for 8 weeks. Post race
Warm down: Donned warm clothing and did a lot of hugging and a little weeping. What limited your ability to perform faster: Training time and not wanting to push the surgical repair too hard. Event comments: Love this race. So glad I didn't miss it this year. Was great to meet Puddle Duck in person. I was 30 minutes slower than last year, but hey ... I wasn't in a hospital bed or wheelchair, I wasn't on crutches or in a Bionic Woman Leg Brace ... I showed up and did the whole thing. Life is good! Last updated: 2010-03-03 12:00 AM

Woke up, donned race gear, including very fine Comeback Queen Tiara. Had a small amount of coffee. Chirped like a bird and irritated those in the household who were also up and ready to run or ready to record the event with photography.
Walked from Mount St. Mary, where our team gathered, to the start line. More chirping ensued.
