Comments: Got off course a couple of times on the first loop of the back stretch, and then again on the final leg to the exit. What would you do differently?: Sight a bit more ![]() Transition 1
Comments: Left leg cramped as I climb out of the water to the stairs, took it a bit slower jogging to transition. It was a bit of a jog from the racks to the mount line, running in cycling shoes was not all that fun. What would you do differently?: Maybe look at getting some Tri cycling shoes ![]() Bike
Comments: Bike leg felt good, stuck with my plan of not pushing past my current training pace, and rode with the run in mind. What would you do differently?: Just need to bike more in general ![]() Transition 2
Comments: Problems getting bike racked, 10 bikes per rack made it difficult to get it back, handle bars got caught on the spokes of the bike in the next spot. Once I finally got my bike racked, the rest of the transition went well. What would you do differently?: Practice slipping out the shoes while riding, if I don't have Tri shoes, I might as well minimize the time I run in them. ![]() Run
Comments: Run overall felt good, though on the return portion of lap 2 both quads began to cramp. Stopped for a moment to stretch them out, so lost a bit of time there but nothing to bad. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Walked around, drank so water, and then enjoyed a nice massage. Event comments: This race was well organized and a blast to do. If you do it, plan on getting there a bit early as it was quite a walk from parking to transition, maybe a quarter mile or more. The only complaint was the number of people per rack, 10 bikes per rack was to many. Transition spots were assigned by race number, so you couldn't just move to a rack with more room. It made the transitions difficult. With more space on the racks, I'd have nothing to complain about. Last updated: 2010-03-31 12:00 AM

Got my usual pre-race latte and breakfast sandwich, no g.i. issues at previous races so I didn't any reason to get something else before this one.
Other then that, got transition set-up and tries to remain calm as this was my first Olympic distance race.
Got in the water aprox. 10 minutes before the start of my wave, mostly to acclimate to the cool waters of the San Francisco Bay, light swimming.
