Run
Comments: Hoping to have a faster run pace but was not feeling a lot of energy in the legs. Just tried to keep a constant, smooth pace and keep from losing too much time. Transition 1
Comments: Results didnt show t-1 transition time. What would you do differently?: Road, shoes, bike were wet..little more difficult to clip in but others having issues as well. I have duct tape on bottom of shoe (carbon sole) to help provide some grip on pedals but next time will try something that has a little more friction like a non-slip stair tape. Bike
Comments: Made up time in bike portion. Caught several riders going up the hills and was able to maintain speed through rest of course. Others riders concern about slipping or wet conditions?? I just enter corners wide, kept bike upright and exit wide. What would you do differently?: None..other than something different on bottom of shoes to help with wet coniditions mounting bike. Transition 2
Comments: Brought towel to sit on at t-1/2 but it was wet from rain. Slipped on running shoes, hat and drank some water. Headed out of t-2 and into run feeling comfortable after bike. What would you do differently?: Nothing...maybe bring a small stool, bucket to sit on. Run
Comments: Second run was better than first but still could have been done a faster pace. Did not encounter any leg issues after bike, so felt bike effort was right on. Glad I pre ran the course several weeks earlier. What would you do differently?: Nothing.. Post race
Warm down: Had something to drink, 1/2 bagel and the smoothies were a nice treat. What limited your ability to perform faster: Being a ex-long distance runner thought running would be my strongest event, but found out that is what I need most improvement in. Keep running but work in longer runs for more endurance. Event comments: Enjoyed the event and hope for better weather conditions next year. Last updated: 2010-04-15 12:00 AM

Visited race location on Saturday to get familiar with parking, transition zone and facilities. Rode bike loop and did 3-mile run loop brick several weeks earlier. Found that last mile of race will be downhill and finishing on level road.
Up at 5:15, ate usual cerial w/fruit, small quiche, OJ and coffee. Everything already packed, got to event at 6:15. Found good transition spot half way between run exit and bike start. Got marked and changed into long sleeve shirt instead of race jersey. Rode bike loop through park to see where water, potholes, etc would be. Ran 1/2 mile warm up and got ready for start.
