Swim
Comments: Pathetically slow as usual. One day I'll learn how to swim. I breathe mostly to the right, and everytime I breathe, I don't see anyone. But the few times I breathe to my left, there's a sea of people. This probably means I was way out of line? However, I really like the course setup, swimming along shoreline in calm waters. And the time trial start is VERY CIVILISED. What would you do differently?: Learn to swim Transition 1
Comments: There was a long run from swim to transition zone, ~400m. But I was prepared and brought along an extra pair of running shoes. My wetsuit was stuck to my wrist and ankles and I lost A LOT of time struggling and fighting with my wetsuit. Bike
Comments: About 29.5kph going out, 33.5 coming back.. Used disk cover. Passed a ton of people, some on fancy bikes. Exchanged leads probably 6 times with this 50yr old guy. For some reason, my bike computer was not working. Would probably be able to pace better if computer had worked properly. But HR monitor showed that I didn't slack off, mostly in Z4, so I probably couldn't have gone much faster. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Generally happy. Transition 2
Run
Comments: Really tired by now. Walked on most hills. This is the longest workout I've done this yr. And I didn't train much the last few wks, so fitness is lacking. Post race
Warm down: Hubby and I had lunch at one of our fav restaurant @ a nearby winery. Fantastic! Event comments: I stayed for the awards hoping to be 3rd and it was looking good, until the real winner in my AG pointed out that the results are not showing she's in my AG. So I ended up 4th, I pretty much lost it all in transition 'cos I had problems getting the wetsuit off. But I took their biggest draw prize for the day, I was the very last name called, and I won a pair of Zoot race shoes! Yeah! Hubby and race photographer took lots of nice pix at this race - check this out - http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/photos/photo-thumbnail... Last updated: 2010-06-22 12:00 AM

Usual McD coffee and muffin. Hubby drove. We tried to take another route in case of G-20 traffic disruptions and ended up getting lost, seemingly going around in circles forever. Very stressed. When we finally arrived, I had to rush to get bike racked and transition area set up before they clear the transition area. That was the most stressful part of the race.
