Comments:

Started at the back of the group to avoid bumping. First 100 yards was a bit of a crowd and a few bumps/kicks. Swam past the crowd and in front of the pack--Great swim and suprised by my finish--One of the first swimmers out of the water.
What would you do differently?:

Might have tried to start out in front. I didn't realize I was going to pass through the crowd. If I started out in front I may have avoided the crowd all together.

Shoed swiveled and would not cooperate! Fought with the strapson shoes a bit.

Practice the transition and lay gear out differently.
