Swim
Comments: 11/27 AG 60/181 F 110/396 OA little contact; a good swim! What would you do differently?: nothing Transition 1
Comments: ran pretty hard hard along the pier and into TA, but slightly over-ran my spot. wasted a little time picking up my earplugs so they wouldn't get lost. wasted a little bit more deciding whether to put on a long sleeve jersey; decided no, and it turned out to be a good decision; good transition overall 4/27 AG 12/181 F 43/395 OA What would you do differently?: count racks instead of relying on visual cues to find my spot; remember to put goggles and earplugs into cap before I get to the rack Bike
Comments: started pretty far back so I had lots of people to pass, only got passed by two (passed one back but then she dropped me). Lots of wind, especially during the last 5 miles (headwinds). Felt really good but didn't want to push too hard and blow up on the run. A fun ride. 5/27 AG 21/181 F 103/395 OA What would you do differently?: push a little bit harder Transition 2
Comments: fumbled a little racking my bike (not used to racking it by the brakes); almost forgot to remove my helmet. wasted time putting on my socks! 9/27 AG 68/181 F 167/395 OA What would you do differently?: next shoes, I go sockless! Run
Comments: a great run for me! my goal was to beat the 9:08 pace I did for Kinetic, with a dream goal to go under 9; crushed it! Kept a good pace on the out and then tried to hold it or bring it up a bit on the back; kicked it up starting about 1/2 mile to go 11/27 AG 55/181 F 177/395 What would you do differently?: it was a great, fast run for me, but I wasn't completely spent at the end, so I must have had a little bit more in me; I need to learn to push closer to the limit Post race
Warm down: walked around and chatted What limited your ability to perform faster: wind on the bike Event comments: they seemed a bit disorganized during Friday packet pickup, but, really, they are just more laid-back than any race I'm used to and it all worked out well Last updated: 2010-07-10 12:00 AM

went to bed about 11pm; had a decent sleep for before a race but not great. up at 5:30; dressed and ate. left for Public Landing about 6:35 and arrived about 7:10 and got one of the last parking spaces near transition. Got a nice end rack spot and then went for body marking. Set up my transition area and then ended up hanging around the rack to police my area. Walked down to the swim start area about 10 to 9.
sweatshirt and wetsuit ;)
got into the water before my wave start and wet myself down a bit to start getting used to the temperature, but didn't do any swimming.
