Swim
Comments: This was my 3rd triathlon and ows. As we were standing on the shore, I'd forgotten that start was from the first buoy in deep water. So, when people suddenly started swimming I got into the race mode and started going fast(my fast but not to most people). I think I went over someone too(sorry). When I got to the buoy and saw people stopping, realized about the deep water start. it took a while until we heard the sound of start horn, so I was glad I wore full wet suites to help me afloat. After the confusion at the start, I actually felt really good swimming. I was able to breath better, sight better than previous 2 ows. I remembered to save energy for the last swim up to the shore swimming against the tide. I was very happy I made all the way to the shore in free style! What would you do differently?: remember the type of start(wade/deep water) Transition 1
Comments: The bucket of water they had in front of T1 to dip feet in was really nice. I wore thinner socks than I had worn previous races, they were harder to put them on. ok over all. What would you do differently?: go back to the other socks or go sockless Bike
Comments: Could not find the right gear on my hybrid bike. Did not push myself as hard as I did in past races. Tried hard not get pass by other hybrid bikes. What would you do differently?: push harder. Transition 2
Comments: When I came in to the T2, I could not find my section and I was going back and forth between the rows looking for the bib number from my last race!!(duh) When I finally calm down and found the section, I could not rack my bike as it was too full with other bikes. What would you do differently?: remember or check the bib number!! Run
Comments: Felt great with my new shoes(brooks Launch). Passed some people who passed me during bike and T2. Started sprinting to the finish a little too early almost ran out of gas at the finish. What would you do differently?: pretty happy with my run performance. Post race
Warm down: ate breakfast burritos. What limited your ability to perform faster: not knowing the right shifting tech. in bike. Event comments: The email from the race director was very helpful. great volunteers. The race result after the race was confusing but glad they updated eventually. thanks for everyone who involved organizing the race! cool race video: http://vimeo.com/14163189 Last updated: 2010-07-25 12:00 AM

Woke up at 2:55am!! Got a big mug of coffee for the road. Left home by 3:30, ate a huge home made rice ball, a preserved apple and banana on the road. Arrived the transition area at 5:15 and was very happy to find a nice fee parking spot. checked in with nice folks, got body marked, got timing chip and set up transition. hit porta-potty.
Swam at the swim finish area following the suggestion by the race director in his email the day before. Just like he said the tide was going out, so it was harder to swim back to the shore than going out, a very helpful info. to know at the end of the swim.
