Pre-race routine:

got there early and snagged a good t spot at edge on a row. Made sure I hydrated well

pace slower, but was able to make the hill when many others got off and pushed their bikes up. Passed several people on uphill climbs and felt great about that
What would you do differently?:

My water bottle cage broke mid ride and I had to ditch my bottle mid race. Better check of all equipment

much better on run segment this time. Hip pain off and on and had to walk it out, but overall much better pace. Hills were tough

not much other than try and be even better prepared
Post race
Warm down:

grabbed water, bananna and orange slice and found shade. Walked around and then rode bike back to truck to finish cool off

What limited your ability to perform faster:

heat and hills

Event comments:

had fun and enjoyed the prerace cameradery that is shared as we wait for our race to start
