Comments: Started off quickly and did first 1km in 4:30 and then started slowing. I was passed by quite a few people but I wasn't upset by this and ran my own race! I was feeling pretty good with 2km to go so I tried to pick up the pace a little (Probably just held my pace) and was able to finish strong! The 8km split was 38:54 which is 4:30 quicker than the Yarra Valley Grape run a couple of months ago!!! Lori completed this race in 49:29 and her 8km split was 45:23 which was 5 mins faster than last time!!! AWESOME!!! What would you do differently?: Try to hold a higher pace for longer... although I have to be careful not to burn out. All-in-all I was pretty happy! Post race
Warm down: Light stretching after walking around and having a bit to drink. What limited your ability to perform faster: Still need to improve overall fitness.. I could see improvement from last time but I'll keep at it and should see results! Last updated: 2010-10-24 12:00 AM

Got up at 6:30am and drove from Geelong to Melbourne and arrived approx 1 and a 1/2 hours prior to race start. This gave ample time to pick up registration pack and go to the bathroom.
We walked around a little and then the event had some Aerobics prior to the start. A bit of fun and helped get loosened up!
