Pre-race routine:

Rain and race delay had my nutrition out of whack. I grabbed an extra GU to get some addition nutrition in my system before the start.

Water was a bit choppy, but current was fairly strong, which led to fast splits. This was my first Time Trial start and I actually liked it. It made for a smooth start and less bunches to swim around, but the downside is that it was much harder to draft.

Long run from swim exit to red transition. The ground was still pretty wet, so I tried to take my time to keep from slipping.

I may have pushed it a bit too hard on the bike as my run suffered, but not sure if that was due to the humidity and heat, which is my kryptonite on the run.
What would you do differently?:

more training on the bike for a better set up on the run.

I didn't want to cramp up or heat up, so I drank extra liquids. This resulted in my stopping at a port o potty at the bottom of harlem hill.

Course: Somewhat hilly course with two big hils around the toll gate. pretty wet ride with a lot of puddles, some of which had potholes underneath. I heard a pro went flying off her bike because she hit a pothole covered by water.

Course: A slight incline coming out of T2, but then flat on 72nd until you hit central park. Harlem hill is always a challenge, especially going clockwise when the incline is slow & painful and the decline is sharpe & fast.
