Pre-race routine:

Ate two bananas on the drive with a diet rootbeer, got to the site and parked about 1/2 mile away in the "free" parking. Checked in and when over actions in the transition.
Event warmup:

Walked around stretched a little, swam a bit in the wetsuit to warm up, water didn't seem that cold.
Swim
  • 18m 49s
  • 820 yards
  • 02m 17s / 100 yards
Comments:

Wow, that sucked. Sucked in some water and got out of rhythm and never got it back. Was all downhill for the swim after that!
What would you do differently?:

Get in a few OWS with the wetsuit, and keep working on the swim (more pool time)
Transition 1
  • 02m 22s
Comments:

Had a little problem with getting the top off, but was a good T1 with a long run from the lake to T1
What would you do differently?:

Just work on getting the suit off (top mainly)
Bike
  • 37m 37s
  • 14.2 miles
  • 22.65 mile/hr
Comments:

Great ride, just was pissed about all the drafting out on the course, that really motivated me to pass folks that were 4-6 deep drafting. Karma also got one of the drafters, as he ran over something, he flatted his front tire.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, just keep riding hard, work on pumping out the speed!
Transition 2
  • 01m 7s
Comments:

Good T2 with a long run to the timing mat
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, was a good T2
Run
  • 21m 46s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 06m  min/mile
Comments:

Good run, just continued to pick folks off during the run. Didn't run with my watch, still need to work on getting watch on during T2
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, had a good run
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around, took bike back to car and went back to find the wife

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The swim. Really will start to work that a lot more, and maintain the run and bike

Event comments:

Great race, just need to have more officials out to stop the rampant drafting. I even got out of aero to drop back after I was passed, so most folks were outright cheating or didn't care!
