Swim
What would you do differently?: Need to practice WAY more. Transition 1
What would you do differently?: Wasted a minute putting on a sweater, but the wind really was awful. Should have just toughed it out. Bike
Comments: The hill was way tough for me, I live near flat and did not practice enough to be ready for the two times up that hill. Otherwise was happy with my pace, but that hill added several minutes to my time. Transition 2
Comments: Feet were still wet and cold, struggled getting into running shoes, but overall was a quick transition. Run
What would you do differently?: Take off the sweater from the bike, but didn't want to waste time. Post race
Warm down: Walked around a bunch (probably 30 minutes) and then grabbed a latte to warm up! What limited your ability to perform faster: Inexperience, still gaining some cardio quality after years of no real physical activity Event comments: Lunch was pasta at a nearby mall kiosk. Didn't bother with it - they didn't serve until 2 hours after I was done. Bananas, oranges etc at finish line. Was ok. Race t-shirt has a great design and most volunteers were awesome! Ate pb and banana sandwich on the drive in. It was nice and early and WINDY! I knew it was going to be rough in the wind, but I was ready to do my best. Oh and the night before taught me to be more observant, had to quick change a flat before loading up bike into vehicle. Had to use a tube from husband's bike because we were out of spare - ugh!
None - probably should have though!
