Pre-race routine:

Woke up early, had half a bagel and a banana. Made sure to hydrate well for the 3 days leading up to it.
Event warmup:

Biked to the race, nice easy ride. Should have done more swimming warm-up. Will make sure to do that next time. Just stretched and hung out mostly before the race.

I did better than I expected time wise, but I definitely could have done things to make this part better. It's clearly the area I need to improve upon the most!
What would you do differently?:

I should have gotten into the water earlier and done some warm up swimming, I also should have made my way to the deep water start earlier, I was far away it took me over a minute to cross the starting line!

I was a bit disoriented coming out of the water and my bike was as far away from the water and from the exit as humanly possible :) I'll try to not do that next time.

I went much faster on the bike than I expected, it was nice, though I think I'm not properly fitted for my bike because my knee was aching a bit on this. I need to have the seat raised I think.

Less than a minute for this transition, it could have been faster but people had left their helmets and junk on the ground where I needed to rack my bike. Trying to get their junk out of the way took some time!

I'm happy with my time. I could have gone a little faster at the end, but there were two runners blocking the path and not allowing people to pass. Regardless, I made up a good amount of time on the run, and it was fun to be able to pass people instead of constantly being passed like I was on the bike :)
