Age Group Rank = 3/?
Event warmup:

Small 10 min. jog followed by 10 min. of Yoga.
Swim
  • 09m 21s
  • 400 meters
  • 02m 20s / 100 meters
Comments:

I was actually starting to smile while still swimming. Had to close my mouth. Such a vast difference from previous race.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. Continue to train the swim more often to increase my open water time to meet my lap times.
Transition 1
  • 01m 20s
Comments:

Smooth. No wet suit to take off. NO socks to put on.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Bike
  • 20m 49s
  • 10 kms
  • 28.82 km/hr
Comments:

Was going as fast as my little legs and Hybrid mountain bike could carry me.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing I could do unless I had $2000+ to compete with the other racers in my category..lol
Transition 2
  • 01m 6s
Comments:

Had one racer in front just at bike dismount. Didn't want to pass him so I slowed down until we left transition on the run and then passed him. Maybe could of gone faster but I didn't make any enemies either...;)
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Run
  • 11m 6s
  • 2.5 kms
  • 04m 26s  min/km
Comments:

Was running alone until 1/2 way then I caught up and passed one competitor. Sailed the rest of the way and posted a PB run.
What would you do differently?:

I tried pushing the pace early to settle into the groove but I think I could of pushed a little harder.
Post race
Warm down:

Light stretching.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I swam just to be comfortable. After the disaster I had the previous race I wanted to finish the swim and still want to race...lol.
With such a flat course the obvious difference in bike tech was overwhelming. I rode a blazing fast 28.8k (for me)and I was 9th in my category. The guy who finished just ahead of me was 2.5kph faster and resulted in 2:13 quicker.

Event comments:

I received a third place finish medal in my age category (40-44). Also won a Timex Ironman wrist watch as a door prize. Had a great day and felt fantastic about my race.
