Pre-race routine:

Woke at 4:40, Drank 20oz Wawa coffee and ate a banana on way to CBP Parking lot. Got on first express train at 6am, ate power bar energy on way up. Met Harry & Marlo at first porta-potties on way to the field. Met Jeff W and Adam by goalpost on field. Drank some water they gave out at the field.
Event warmup:

Didn't do any laps this year, but did do Donna Storm's aerobic warmup with Harry & Marlo. Took off throw-away sweats at 7:40 before entering corral, and took 3 enduralytes, 2 aspirin, and 5 drops of creatine before entering. 7:50 took powerbar gel pac with caffeine. Stretched in corral a little.

Comments:

Was hoping to run 6:45s. Had 5-6mph tail wind most of the way, except sometimes swirled in from different directions downtown due to the buildings. Ran on the left side of the road most of the time to take advantage of the shade there. Got hot sometimes with wind at back and sun out. Drank gatorade every chance I could, and sometimes took water, and sometimes splashed it on me. Gave Ed Rendell a hi-5 as I passed him around Mile 6 in his usual spot. Didn't see Nutter there. Had big group of girls handing out water all throw it on me as I passed around mile 7 or 8, and cool breeze on wet body helped keep me cool. Legs never really got too sore, just was getting tired last few miles.
What would you do differently?:

Got a lot of speedwork in but not a lot of miles in training for this. I guess if I could've done more miles I wouldn't have been as tired.
Post race
Warm down:

Ate PHL pretzel, drank cup of gatorade, and then got snack bag and walked back to car. Drank bottle of water, ate a banana, and drank bottle of skinny water handed out. Sticked legs and took 2 aspirin when got back to car, and soaked in my hottub when got back home :-)
