Swim
Comments: After standing on the pool deck for so long waiting for my turn to go, I was happy to find out that the water was nice and cool. I didn't do too great at changing lanes and I felt like I wasted time every time. I was happy that I had plenty of space. I was never very close to anyone else, which was surprising. If I had raced AG: 1/8 What would you do differently?: Nothing, if I did more pool swims, I'd figure out the lane change thing better, but this is the only one. Transition 1
Comments: I ran a few feet past my bike and was annoyed at myself, but it only cost me a few seconds so not a big deal. Everything went smoothly otherwise. Athena: 2/5 Overall: 15/88 If I had raced AG: 3/8 What would you do differently?: I'd still like to learn how to do the flying mount, but I've practiced it and I still don't feel very comfortable with it. I could use lessons or something. -eye roll- Bike
Comments: Course had lots of rolling hills. This allowed for some fast speeds but also caused some slow crawls up. I worked hard and didn't worry to much about saving a lot for the run since it was such a short race. 16.7 MPH average is good for me for a hilly terrain. On the bike course, I realized that I had gained some tri maturity. I was very patient with all the newbiew who were clueless on race etiquette. I would just call out, "Please stay to the right!" Haha. This happened quite a bit, but I realize that it was a very newbie friendly race and didn't worry about it. If I had raced AG: 2/8 What would you do differently?: Nothing, I did the best I could and felt good about it. Transition 2
Comments: Pretty smooth, except I started trying to get my feet out of my shoes too early. A lady volunteer WAY before the dismount line was pointing at the ground which confused me, but other than that smooth, quick transition. Athena: 1/5 Overall: 7/88 If I had raced AG: 1/8 What would you do differently?: Nothing. Run
Comments: The hills were a pain, but fortunately a good portion of the course was shaded which was good since it had heated up to the 90s by this time. The hill up to the finish line was murder. I was huffin and puffin like crazy. I usually sprint finish, but not this race. I was just dragging my butt up that hill. Haha. A great pace for me and for the course. If I had raced AG: 3/8 What would you do differently?: Nothing, I felt good about the race. Post race
Warm down: Water! Stretching. Took my stuff back to the car. Jumped back in the pool. Attended the awards ceremony. Ate some pretty good food. What limited your ability to perform faster: Miles, weight, getting over bronchitis. If I had raced AG: 2/8 Last updated: 2011-05-11 12:00 AM

Woke up about 6:30. Oatmeal, PB, honey. Drove to the race site on the other side of the city. Got lost. Got there about 7:15. Set up transition. Used the bathroom. Stood around waiting to get started. I was in the second "wave" since I registered late.
I wanted to swim some laps, but there really wasn't enough room or time. So just some dynamic stretching by the side of the pool.
