Comments:

Had 1 bottle of gaterade and 1 bottle of water and a gel at 1:15. Like always, felt a little queasy the first 15 minutes of the bike.

What would you do differently?:

Nothing during this race...overall I need to get stronger at climbing.

Comments:

GREAT run for me. Hard to believe a year ago this was what I was running open 10ks at!

My calves felt SO tight the first mile, I thought they might explode. Things loosened up after that though and I felt good.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Post race
Warm down:

Water and massage

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Sighting on the swim and knowing the course. Other than that, today went perfectly for me. I excecuted my plan, felt good, and could not be more proud. This was a 23 minute PR!

Event comments:

I had a great race but overall this was a very poorly organized race. The lines were so long for packet and chip pickup and also for transition. People were still waiting in the transition line with 15 minutes to the start. The swim was not well explained or well marked. The top 5 men leaders actually got to the exit and they made them turn around and go back around a bouy they all missed. The bike course sucks. The run was a good course on a trail but it was open and I was dodging mountain bikers, kids and dogs. Also there was no timing mat at the turnaround so people could have very easily cheated.

Course: About 400m against the current then turn and back downstream. Very, very poorly marked course. I swam way more than I needed to because I kept going off course and getting confused about where to go.
