Overall Rank = 249/341
Age Group = clydesdale
Age Group Rank = 22/33
Pre-race routine:

it started raining pretty hard just as soon as I arrived at 6:30a and did not stop untill about 20 min before the race start.
Event warmup:

stretche, walked (it was raining and I wanted to stay as warm as possible)
Swim
  • 08m 59s
  • 503 yards
  • 01m 47s / 100 yards
Comments:

my actual time in the water was 8m:31s according to my watch, i dont think i messed that up, so I think they added time running up to transition.
What would you do differently?:

Nothin... this was my best swim so far in a triathlon with 1:41 100's since I trust the 8:31 on my watch.
Transition 1
  • 02m 54s
Comments:

ran out of the water well, did not feel like I needed to sit and breathe, was ready to bike, wetsuit stuck on one leg only,
What would you do differently?:

need to learn to get into bike shoes already clipped in.
Bike
  • 58m 48s
  • 15.53 miles
  • 15.85 mile/hr
Comments:

average mph was not much better then at other races this summer, but I got better place in the clydesdale group, also I actually passed people that looked like triathletes, and even on hills. I fought for almost every hill, and reached/maintained 25mph on a flat 2 mile segment.
What would you do differently?:

Very happy with bike overall, even though the numbers may not show it.
Need to practice more hills because I got killed by the two hills right out of transition after the swim. I was seriously going about 9-11 mph for the first 3 miles trying to catch my breath and regain my composure.
Transition 2
  • 01m 37s
Comments:

did not wear gloves for the ride this time and did not have to wrestle the off as before, also kept same sunglasses for the run as for the bike
What would you do differently?:

nothing - i like my new speed laces.
Run
  • 29m 33s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 09m 30s  min/mile
Comments:

initially legs felt like they were made of dried up cardboard with some superglue in between. Finally opened up at the end of the first mile and started running. Cardiovascular was not a problem, just the muscular.
What would you do differently?:

practice more bike/run bricks.
overall happy with run, it was my personal best time for 5k in a triathlon this summer.
Post race
Warm down:

felt good, walked around, drank water, ate, talked to friends

What limited your ability to perform faster:

nothing, this was my A race, I did my best, got best time, and I am happy with it.
