Pre-race routine:

Woke up and got stuff ready. Had a PB&J. Drank some water. Left house around 7am and got there about 7:20. Got stuff ready

I felt a little bit constrained by the suit today. I didn't get in the water prior to the start which I think hurt me.

Flying mount. Forgot to put bike in correct gearing for going up the hill. Need to hurry more. My swim takes too long and my T1 needs to be top for me to have a shot at AG.

Still not pushing enough. On a hillier course that was only 10 miles I only managed .2 faster than my Oly split last week. The turns and hills had something to do with that, but I need to be 23mph.

Didn't push enough that first mile. I had 9:00 to get sub 60 at the turn around and by-gosh, I did it. Only got passed by 1 person on run and I finished right behind him (but beat him :))
What would you do differently?:

Get out harder. I'm in better shape than I thought I was. The negative split last week for the Oly and the Neg split this week show that.

Warm down:

Stood around all that jazz. Then ran 48 min.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Wet roads. and Mental. I raced pretty well though.

Event comments:

Overall I had 3 goals going in. Sub 60 - Check (I thought 58 on a great day), AG Podium - Check (3rd and they went to 5th), and Top 40 - Check. I can't really complain, but seeing who finished right ahead of me and knowing that I didn't push the beginning of either the bike or the run, I know I have more in the tank. I'm going for 56 in August. Also, the race wasn't really on time, but it was in the best interest of the racers, so I said it was on time.
