Sunny
Total Time = 2h 02m 5s
Overall Rank = 276/354
Age Group = Athena
Age Group Rank = 7/12
Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 4:15, took a shower, and left the house at 5:15am (It took about an hour and 30 minutes to drive to the race location). Before leaving the house I ate a piece of toast with peanut butter. 10 minute before the race started (it started at 8:25am) I drank a Gatorade prime gel / liquid.
Event warmup:

I jogged about 1/2 a mile, put on my wetsuit, and then swam a little for a warm-up.
Swim
  • 25m
  • 962 yards
  • 02m 36s / 100 yards
Comments:

Not sure about where I ranked in my division since it was Athenas, relay racers, and all women 40+ who were in my swim wave. Good news, however, I did not finish last and even passed a really slow swimmer from the wave that started 5 mins. before me!
What would you do differently?:

More swim practice, more OWS practice! Perhaps even some one-on-one swim coaching?
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

I'm not sure what my transition time was, but I was hurting after the swim. I saw my supporters and said to them, "That was painful!" I had practiced my transition, so I think this really helped me know what I was doing.
What would you do differently?:

Practice the swim more so I wasn't so shaky coming out of the water and into the transition area.
Bike
  • 1h 05m
  • 16 miles
  • 14.77 mile/hr
Comments:

Again, not sure about my age group rank for the bike portion, but I definitely made up a lot of time here. I passed quite a few people and for being on a mountain bike, I was impressed with myself. The time put into the bike during training really paid off.
What would you do differently?:

Use a road bike.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

Again, not sure about my transition time, but I feel pretty good about it. I had practiced the transition and felt on a high coming off of the bike knowing that I had made up a lot of time.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. I think I did pretty good.
Run
  • 27m
  • 3 miles
  • 09m  min/mile
Comments:

Three months previous to the race I used to say, "This body does not run." Then I went from not being about to run a mile to comfortably running 5.5 miles! I went from the couch to 100 miles logged in my running log in just 3 months. With this being said, I went into the run during the race pretty confident that I could run the 3 miles and run it strong. My parents were there supporting me and my dad said to my mom as I headed out for the run, "We can go relax. It's going to be a while." Much to his surprise I amazed him, my mom, my friends, and myself at keeping a 9 minute a mile pace and sprinting past them towards the finish line. The announcer announced as I was sprinting in, "Here comes our fastest finisher!" Boy, did that feel GREAT!
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, I feel pretty proud of my run.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around, talked to my supporters, drank a Jamba Juice, and enjoyed the high of finishing my first triathlon!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I will be able to perform faster in the future after I train more.

Event comments:

Although this race was my first, I would have to say I was pretty impressed! I'm already planning on completing this race next summer! :)
