Swim
Comments: Awesome swim... goal was 34 minutes and I nailed it! Breathing and stroke felt very smooth Transition 1
Comments: The lake was 0.4 miles from T1, so we took wetsuits off at the lake and put in bags, then ran through the park to transition! Wetsuit came off fast and then made the long run to T1. Was going so fast I forgot my socks! Aaron went into T1 about 30 seconds before, but I smoked him out of transition Bike
Comments: The pavement turned to chip seal about halfway through and made for some rough riding. Speeds dropped a good 2 mph! Lap 1: 21.67 mph Lap 2: 20.65 mph Transition 2
Comments: Overall good, but I was pretty tired.... used the extra 30 seconds to put by socks and and catch my breath before half marathon Run
Comments: Felt awesome the first few miles... held 8:30 pace first 3 miles, then stayed right on 9 minute (goal) pace through 5 miles... pace started to slow with each mile - walked through each aid station for Gatorade & fuel. Legs were killing me from mile 9 on - feet hurting and pain in right IT band! What would you do differently?: Pick up pace sooner! I had great finish line run last half mile, but had some energy to burn... should have picked up pace for last mile Post race
Event comments: Great race! Felt so good about effort and time... would have liked to hold my run pace better, but ecstatic about overall time. Being first year race, competition was stiff - some serious bike artillery in T1! Last updated: 2011-07-16 12:00 AM
