Age Group Rank = 3/35
Pre-race routine:

This race has an early setup with a later start for Oly men. Had 2 poptarts just before 7 and 1/4 bottle perform. Drove to course, GU 10 mins before start
Swim
  • 29m 20s
  • 1610 meters
  • 01m 49s / 100 meters
Comments:

PR swim, stayed with the group I wanted, and drafted a good percentage of the time.
What would you do differently?:

Slowest discipline, but not willing to spend the time required to get it 2-3 mins faster.

Transition 1
  • 03m
Comments:

Put the bike shoes on before leaving this time, didn't care for the flying leap. Went well!
Bike
  • 1h 06m 21s
  • 38.82 kms
  • 35.10 km/hr
Comments:

Used the diskcover and the 404 + the evo corsa tires and the latex tubes. Didn't explode the front this time so got to use it.
What would you do differently?:

Take off rear bottle holder and put repair kit in Bento.

Transition 2
  • 01m 42s
Comments:

ARGH newbie mistake of forgetting where the rack spot was with no bikes. Took at least 20 seconds to find my stuff. Blah.

What would you do differently?:

Remember exactly where I parked.
Run
  • 45m 18s
  • 10.45 kms
  • 04m 20s  min/km
Comments:

Course was 500m over, which is just over 2 mins extra time. 43 min 10k is acceptable considering I put extra effort into the bike this race.

Post race
Warm down:

Bit of water, a couple of choco chip cookies and several cups of coffee.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

172 km bike 2 days ago? No taper at all?

Event comments:

Won 3rd AG (30-39) and got 150$ gift cert for shoes/sandals!

Perfect warm up for IMC in a few weeks. Disk and tires were good.
