Run
  • 3h 16m 29s
  • 26.2 miles
  • 07m 30s  min/mile
Comments:

First 8 miles probably went too hard which was felt on the last 6. The fact that when the course flattened out and I was still cruising at :10 faster/mile than the first 8, I used too much energy to finish up the last 6.
What would you do differently?:

See above comments...fine tune the training and focus on overall race pace.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked very slowly to team tent for massage.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Going too hard on the first 8 miles of hills.

Event comments:

I can't complain about not qualifying for Boston on my first marathon. I came pretty close, but I didn't qualify. A little disappointing but to put into perspective my debut performance really wasn't bad. Proud to do the race with Team Fisher House, for my father, and for myself.
