Swim
Comments: First long distance swim with a wetsuit. I had difficulty breathing normally and it was really warm but it helped. My swim goggles fogged up at the start. My head was out of the water most of the time and I touched the ground at a few places. That's why it was easy for me to go in the right direction (even if I was going much slower because of that). I received a few punches from everyone at the start. 116 participants dived in the water at the same time after running on the beach, it was impressive! I'm happy about my time considering everything I didn't do correctly. What would you do differently?: Practice with a wetsuit for longer distances. Transition 1
Comments: T1 probably included in the bike time. What would you do differently?: Practice T1 especially for removing the wetsuit Bike
Comments: I couldn't open my bottle full of Gatorade. I had a lack of energy after a while and there was a lot of wind. What would you do differently?: Train more and for longer distances. I would need to unlock my bottle before the race. Transition 2
Comments: Easy transition. I could finally open my bottle full of gatorade and drink it all in 5 seconds. I finally had some energy to continue. T2 probably included in the bike or run time. What would you do differently?: Go a little faster if I can. Run
Comments: It was difficult at the beginning to go fast because the bike portion used a lot my legs. What would you do differently?: Train more again. Post race
Warm down: Eat and drink water for 20 minutes. What limited your ability to perform faster: No energy (Gatorade) on the whole bike portion. Event comments: First race + First long distance swim in a wetsuit in open water + First triathlon + First Olympic Triathlon of my life! My goal for my first one was under 3h30 and I dit it! I'm happy to see that I'm faster than a lot of people even if it's my first one and I just trained myself a month for it. It was the first time that I swam 1500m withouth stopping and it was hard! The weather was perfect except for the wind on the bike potion. Amazing first race! Last updated: 2011-08-18 12:00 AM
