Run
Transition 1
Bike
Comments: considering the strong winds, I am quite pleased. Good hard ride held at the very top end of zone 3. Only had to back off once to maintain my zone. What would you do differently?: nothing Transition 2
Comments: last 100yd of bike was 1" packed slush snow and didn't allow for a flying dismount. I dismounted early and ran through the snow. I knew my big butt, those 700x23's, and the snow was a bad mix. I didn't even run it. I chose to walk it, to prevent falling. I saw several people sliding around on both bike and foot. What would you do differently?: Don't drink so much on the bike that I have to hit the can before leaving T2. Run
Comments: lots of walking due to the slush. I did push myself to run more than I originally planned at the start of the run, but it was quite a bit slower than my normal pace. I did push good on the last mile and managed a 11:30 for that split. 3 miles of slush, so kind of slow overall. What would you do differently?: Under snow/slush conditions, nothing. Post race
Warm down: walk 200yd to the transition area and collect my things. What limited your ability to perform faster: course conditions. I didn't want to push super hard on the run due to slip danger. Event comments: overall a fun race, well organized, and a beautiful course. Last updated: 2011-09-24 12:00 AM

nothing special, setup T2, very minimal setup this time.
solid mile jog warmup with a few strides and high knees. Short .5mile spin on bike. Couple of 1 minute intervals to stay warm before the gun.
