Swim
Comments: Unorganized swim start. Tried to seed myself in the confusion of swimmers standing in line. Ended up starting right behind Pat as he is usually a little faster than me. Jumped in and got going. Pat got held up a little and I ended up on his feet for most of the swim. I tried to do a little drafting practice. Not a bad swim, think with out the hold up, I could have swam 10-15 seconds faster. What would you do differently?: Nothing, swimming is overrated Transition 1
Comments: This went quick. I have not practiced these since last year. Was surprised it went this well. Bike
Comments: Night before race I decided to try to make my disc cover work on the wheel that came with the P3. Got it taped on and it seemed to be good. Also installed new tire on rear. (nothing new on race day :)) Got up to speed well. Headed out with a mostly crosswind, little tail. Caught Ed just before turnaround. Pushed pretty good, but stayed in control. Got passed right before the turnaround, but passed him back and didn't see him again. Got passed again on the hills by a guy on a new P2 and no shirt. Heading back in, we were fighting a little headwind. Pushed and passed the guy back. He passed me again with a few miles to go. He was setting a good pace, so I stayed about 5 bike lengths back and followed him in. I think I averaged 24mph on the way out and ended up at 22.5. Transition 2
Comments: Good dismount, another thing I have not practiced this year. Sat down to put socks and shoes on, grabbed everything else and go. Run
Comments: Legs felt ok off the bike. Ed caught me in the first 1/2 mile, not what I wanted. I was hoping to have a little more cusion than that and give him a little something to think about. Got to mile 1, down the hill, then struggled up the hill to the cemetery. I actually recovered in the cemetery and if the rest of the race had been flat, I think I'd have run well at that point. BUT, we go back out of the cemetery and back down the hill so we can climb the other side. Tried to keep the pace up and headed back in. Good news is I had no leg/knee issues. No pain at all. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of training and stressful few weeks. Event comments: As always, good race in Petersburg. Swim start a little more disorganized than usual, but overall another quality event. Last updated: 2011-11-22 12:00 AM

Been a hectic couple of weeks with very little training. I did no training the two days prior to this race, to stave off the muscle soreness that comes with restarting training.
Rode down with the T3 group, got set up, and rode the new run course.
None :)
